I was raised in rural South Dakota and in a conservative Christian home life. The only diversity that I was exposed to was what variety of European descendants you were. I had no language or awareness of why I only wanted to play football or other sports with the boys. I felt deep shame when my family members disapproved of my desire to be masculine and avoid anything ‘girly’. In high school, it was easy for me to commit to abstaining from sex until I was married (a part of the christian community I was in) as I didn’t have a drive to be sexual as a girl with a boy.
It wasn’t until I was in college that I learned about differences in people. I became more and more clear that I didn’t fit into the normal stereotype of a heterosexual female. That launched my journey of self-reflection, connecting to community and committing to live authentically. My 20+ years of being part of the LGBTQ+ community has illuminated and created a safe place for me to be myself.
Despite what’s happening with the economy, discrimination experiences and other societal limitations I faced, I have developed an amazing life. I developed my own voice and self-expression.
I started coaching others in 2014 to think and grow beyond their current circumstances. As I loved truly seeing and supporting others being their best selves. I’ve discovered how to be resilient and go beyond any circumstance, situation or condition. I truly LOVE helping those in the LGBTQ+ see how amazing they are and grow beyond what their family, friends or society is comfortable with.
I love working with people who feel like they are stuck with limits that they just don’t know how to overcome. When these individuals are ready to commit and make a change to improve their lives, I help them have breakthrough after breakthrough by teaching them how to thrive no matter their current circumstances. I believe all LGBTQ+ people can live a life they truly love!
